What a mesh is this site!!!! Black background and forground fonts are grey or brown. Un-readable. I have to zoom in and out to see the full width; sometimes text colum disappear behind other colums; then I have choose a smaller fonts. But the biggest problem is the contrast. How can I change that? I search on this site for more than 2 hours... not found. Is here any written tutorial with help? Is there any search possible in the help?

InternetExplorer 8 Windows Vista Resolution 1024x768 From Analytics for my website I found the following statistics for my visitors: 80% Internet Explorer 97% Windows OS 31% 1024x768 (yes I should go higher...) But what for the black background and grey/brown fonts in a sunny room...

Roland, The font is almost white and not grey or brown. In fact when we did the redesign we did many readability test for people who found trhe earlier color combinations and font size hard to read. Every one of them find the new design so much easier to read and easy on the eyes. Maybe your computer is not displaying the site the way it is intended to be displayed? Can you send me a screen shot of say the home page? Please send it to the support email (letting them know I asked you to send it). You can find a link to support at the bottom of the page.

This was on a CRT-monitor. I did some test on a mobile pc (flat-screen) and I admid the readability is little bit better. But some text have changed totally from color: Brown text is blue on the flat screen. Flat screen is on winxp and ie6. Other strange thing: newsitem in right colum about "Filmmaker area" does not appear on the winxp-system. I have send a screenshot to support.

Roland, as you can imagine we don't control your hardware so if you see blue text instead of white that's not the fault of the design but rather your hardware. Looking at your screen shot the color of the font you see is what we see and it is readable. I'm sorry you're having trouble reading but at this time we don't support customized themes for individual members.

Facebook does not link to the video
I linked or embedded one of my videos to my Facebook page. It shows in my wall, but when I press, it brings me to XR main page, not the video itself??? Did I do anything wrong? How to see the video on Facebook? Or link directly to it on XR?

Miguel, This is a typical problem encountered mostly by Safari users since Safari's caching is over aggressive (does not comply with the rules). So if you're using Safari, you'll need to clear your browser cache in order to see the "new" images.

I think I used the fb share icon. It came out showing as a black screen with a lock on it? So something did not work out properly. Now that I pasted a link and attached on fb, it works fine and sends me to the video page, as I intended. No further action needed, thks.

Hi Sam, Glad you like the site! There is no problem with uploading at this time. Can you be more explicit in what you are seeing, in terms of error messages and such? I suggest you contact support (link at the bottom of every page) and provide them with the following information: 1. What browser and OS you are using 2. What error messages you see. If possible provide a screen shot of your browser window 3. How large is your file. 4. What is the duration of your video. And any other information you think may help. Our support staff are prompt in their responses so you'll be in good hands. On the other hand, I'm not always able to respond in a timely fashion.

Video Order / Navigation
Hi you guy's! First off I would like to thank you so much for providing THE coolest website for media artist such as myself. I really enjoy watching all the different styles of work people have uploaded and hope to some day collaborate with some. The encoding process you guys provide…kicks butt and makes my work look better than it really is! Q: I want to send potential clients and friends to my new XR site but I don’t know how to change the order in which people will see my work when they initially get to my home page. If I was to provide a hyperlink to my MAIN page… (http://exposureroom.com/members/prepstein/) ...they would be limited to 12 videos to watch, starting with the last video I uploaded, FIRST…which I was hoping to avoid because I started uploading my work in order of importance. I just thought it would be nice if when I changed the sequence order from within my VIDEOS page… http://exposureroom.com/members/prepstein/videos/ ...that would also reflect the HOME page slide show order as well…and of course being able to cycling through all of the work…not just 12. Do you think there could be a simpler way for someone who’s never been to the site to navigate without missing any of the artist work. I hope this makes a little bit of sense and I don’t come off like an ungrateful snob. Thanks again for providing such a great site. `Patrick

Patrick, You can order your videos in any sequence you like in your videos page. Once you log in and navigate to your videos page, you'll notice a sequence box/field under each video. Use that the order your videos in the sequence you desire. The home page shows the 12 most recent assets (assets being - videos, photos and music). It's the one place you get to see the recent uploads of a member. FYI: The short url to your home page can exclude the "members" part of the url. Similarly, the short url to your videos page can exclude the "members" part in the url as well.

Shiv, I understand the sequence part of it. When changing the sequence order on the VIDEOS page ...it only changes it on that page but does not take a direct effect to the HOME page order which has the 12 video slide show. I was hoping to direct people to my Home page (slide show carousel) in the order of my sequence choosing from the VIDEOS page. Do you think this is possible, if not...will it be considered anytime soon? Thanks again, Patrick

Patrick, As I said the home shows all recent assets. Since there is no way to sequence assets across asset types (photos, videos, music etc.) we use the uploaded date as the ordering sequence. There are no plans currently to change this I'm afraid. As a stop gap measure, you can send support an email providing the sequence of assets you'd like (for your home page) and we'll change the dates on your assets such that they appear in the sequence you desire. If you choose to do this, please provide the link for each asset in the seqence you desire.

Cannot VIEW Videos at all :(
I can't seem to view any videos off exposure room. When I press play it says buffering and it doesn't appear that anything even buffers. It's like I didn't click play. I've tried watching different videos and in low, medium and high quality and still no luck. I have a MacBook Pro version 10.6.3 and I'm using Safari 4.0.4. I also tried other browers such as Firefox and Google Chromr and still no luck!? Is there something I need to download? any answers would be much appreciated. Thank-you, Laura

Laura, Are you able to watch videos on other sites? ExposureRoom uses Flash like every other video website so if you can watch videos on other websites then you should be able to watch videos on ExposureRoom as well. Nake sure you've got the latest version of Flash player installed. Since you're on a MAC you can also try the Htmnl5 player (link right below the video). See if that works. Please also do a speed test available here http://exposureroom.com/speedtest/

Can't Download Originals
I have my account set to allow the download of originals, but for some reason, only some of my projects even have the option when I try to edit the asset. There are a few that I need others to be able to download but I can't select the option to make it downloadable because it isn't there on the "edit asset" page.

Hello Alysa, If your videos are older than 6 months and/or the original file is larger than 500MB than those videos won't be available for download. Your videos can be viewed on ExposureRoom, it's just the originals are no longer available.

Yes. I thought you had originally written 500GB. My mistake. I thought that was way larger than any file on here should be which was why I was a bit confused. That makes way more sense.

Embedding
I use Exposure Room to upload my own movies to use them on my own website. Because of difference in content, we want to embed the same videos twice on our website - but on different pages. It just doesn't seem possible. I copy the number on the file (ex.: c16100cd459e40f9865be7f78daf870d) into a exposure room ID. But the video only shows on the first embedding. Is is only possible to embed a video once on a website? Thank you.

Henrik, On our end we don't prevent you from embeding a video multiple times on the same page or same website (on different pages). So if you are having trouible, it must be something to do with your website's software or settings etc.

Mike, The technical limit is 2GB. However, you may not be able ot upload such as large file due to various reasons. Further, please note that unless you've encoded your video with too high a bitrate, you'll very likely not reach this limit. Also keep in mind that when you upload videos, we check various aspects of your video before accpeting it. If we find the bitrate is too high it will be rejected. So lease take a look at our guidelines (in the help menu on the top right) and also read the emails that are sent out to you soon after we receive your files for tip and other things you need to or should do.

Thanks Shiv for your prompt reply. Actually I have 2 55-minute videos that exceed the 2 GB limit (Now I understand why the upload is aborted). They are encoded at 6000 kbit/s 25fps 1280x720 progressive. Too bad. Thanks anyway.

Mike you may want to look at this article on bit rates http://exposureroom.com/help/view.aspx/329/ It will also help you calculate what bitrate you need to encode at in order to get under the 2GB limit. FYI: Limits are imposed by browsers.
