This is the treated top to the hour long 2007 Year In Review documentary for Sky News, looking back at story highlights ranging from weather, sport, showbiz, science, crime, politics and more.

In addition to the broadcast edit, I cut another version that was released as a DVD to readers of the Daily Telegraph newspaper.

Here is the treated top to that piece, which sets up the weather chapter and is preceded by Adam Boulton's piece to camera - so give it a moment...

You deffinitely have a lot of fun doing this stuff. It must also be fun to have a lot of footage at your disposal no? Or is it the other way around?

Yes, when it comes to cutting these review programmes, there is a ton of footage to work with. The only thing is that invariably one has to make reference to issues that may have been big but for which the available picture is not great. Getting around that can be tricky.

The 2006 Review Intro was much wider in scope. It really tried to set the scene for the whole programme ahead. This 2007 Review Intro was setting up the chapter focusing on weather and environmental issues and was therefore significantly more limited.

But fun is had either way!
