Shakespeare's England?
This is an authored piece, presented by the person telling their story or expressing their point of view. In this case it is Lord Hattersley, an English politician, waxing lyrical about the English countryside and going on about not going on about what it means to him to be English. (You'll see what I mean.)
It is one of two pieces I cut for "DisUnited Britain" - the theme for St Georges Day. National identity is a very complicated topic and has very different meanings for people living in the UK today. Lord Hattersley's is one of a great variety of disparate voices.
I particularly enjoyed the track by Elgar. His music was a discovery for me and I love the way it helps to create a satisfying structure.
