Edited using roughly 85% of footage I shot in Canberra on a short trip there for my wife Lydia's birthday on Saturday. We mostly just go there for the food, as there's a few really nice restaurants there.

Anyway, I did the music for this today, and must say it's one of the better tracks I've done for one of these videos. When I get a chance I might see about extending it to a full song length.

Glenn,

First off I must say that I think you've got a unique style of editing. I'm actually surprised that I enjoy this style. Those totally synced with music visuals and cuts are tremendous. It's like I'm seeing the music through your visuals with your edit.

You got some nice sunlit shots, some of which are beautifully captured. I could listen to this music while working out or even working on something that doesn't need a lot of my mental faculties.

I especially liked the way you edited the scene at 0:38-0:40. The angle and colors of the scene at 1:02 is lovely. You’ve captured a beautiful golden color reflecting off of the base boards. Then the way you’ve done edit soon after (similar to the one at 0:38).

The ending with the moon didn’t really do it for me though. I would have been happy with it ending with the shot before.

Thanks Shiv, although a bit of a late reply here. We just got back yesterday.

I'm glad you like the music. I'd spent a bit more time on this one, adding a few drum fills here and there. When I get a chance I'll definitely try extending it to the length of a normal song.

Yes, the part at 0:38-0:40 is my favourite too. I think because there was so much space covered in the DOF sweep I could easily chop it into smaller slices to sync with the drum fill and guitar part that echoes.

The moon at the end was just a case of trying something different. Normally I would always fade to black at the end, but decided not to this time. The moon itself is meant to be an indicator that the sun has already gone. Although, the opening shots of the ball were actually the last shot that afternoon.

More clips on the way. I shot just under 3 hours worth of footage mostly in Bali, with a car drive to the airport in Jakarta also. I just need to find another 200gb of drive space to capture the remaining 2 tapes.
