This month, I was asked to do a presentation before the 400-member DACS (Danbury Area Computer Society) User's Group. The topic will be the transition from analog to digital television and the issues that are involved with a home theater upgrade to HDTV/Digital.
I am told they have a decent A/V presentation facility there (it's the largest hospital in the tri-state area, so it is likely quite well-appointed) and I will have the tools at my disposal to put on a quality presentation.

My evenings have been filled with preparing a Powerpoint presentation, based loosely around a list of topic questions fielded earlier by the members. There will be lots of graphics depicting the inner workings of various flat panel display types, as well as graphical explanations of 3:2 pulldown, interlaced and progressive scan methods and more. 'Should clear up a lot of mystery in the HT world.

I will be giving the presentation at the Creasy Auditorium at Danbury Hospital at 8pm-9:15pm on Tuesday, August 5th, 2008.
The schedule goes as follows:

6:30p Sign-in, Registration, Casual business networking
7:00p ASK DACS (General QnA), DACS announcements
7:50p Short recess before main presentation
8:00p Main Presentation
9:15p Awarding of any prizes, Closing announcements, Adjourn
DACS General Meetings are open to the public and free of charge.

Parking at Danbury Hospital is in the Blue Parking lot, the entrance on Hospital Ave. Creasy Auditorium is just to the left of the entrance, and is on the same floor as the gift shop and coffee shop.
