It is now 6:50 and we still have not had the opportunity to edit this film. WE have received much advice however time is not working for us at this time. We have to convert all of our files into a format that Adobe will read. That is what is sucking up all the time. I have learned a little too late now that our computer is not equipped to handle HD film. I still have faith and if at some point I have to accept that the audio is not going to come through, I will have no choice but to use beats, instrumenals and other mediums to replace the audio . I am praying that it does not come down to that but I refuse to just allow all these great shots to go to waste. I did get about 2 hours of sleep , I feel  somewhat refreshed and more balanced than on my last blog.  The 48 hour Challenge is extremely challenging in more ways than one. I knew we were going to be stretched however I had no idea how insane this was going to become. Word the wise... Never use a HD camera w/mini-dvd in a Challenge unless you have at least 10 edited films under your belt using mini-dvd. I hope my next blog will be that AUDIO is now in!

Cat, I feel your pain. I've been there and I know what it's like to go through all this when all you're really trying to do is what everyone else seems to be able to do.

Editing HD video requires a machine with a lot of brute force, especially if you need to be able to get real-time feedback. If you do go down the route of buying a new machine one day, be sure to do your research. I'd be happy to help as well.

You're correct about the mini-DVD issue as well. Those cameras were made to go straight from camera to DVD. None of the Pro editing software tools work with the output from these cameras.

Oh well, you live and learn, I guess. I hope you have enough time to solve these issues and be able to edit your film the way you need it.
