JVC HD7 verses Sony SR12 in Daylight

You asked for daylight footage, so here it is. It was all shot using AWB. I didn't apply any color correction during editing.

I edited FullHD in iMovie 08 and exported in 720p30 H.264 as described in my DVC Guide to iMovie 08 Editing.

I'm NOT trying to prove which is better as I have both camcorders and offer eBooks on both: JVC GZ-HD7 Handbook and Sony SR12/CX12 Handbook. I think it's much more interesting how close they are.

Please place in COMMENTS which shot number (1 through 16) comes from camcorder A or B. Camera A is the one you think is "better." As you see each clip, just write down A or B.

NOTE: resolution is lost by the uploading and downloading process.

Thank you!

I hate to say this, but ...
I hate to say this, but not even close.

If you read reviews, you know the JVC got poor reviews while the Sony got great reviews. Yet, in this simple comparison, it's not EZ to tell one from the other.

Why does this matter? Because the JVC, unlike the Sony, has full manual controls.

Not even close?
That does surprise me.
