Do reviews and popular beliefs about "who" makes the best camcorder hold water? What about CCD vs CMOS? One chip verses 3 chips? Sensor resolution? And, the claims about HDV verses AVCHD?

I edited FullHD from two HD camcorders in iMovie 08 and exported in 720p30 H.264 as described in my http://www.knowledge-download.com/iMovie_08_Guide/

Slight color correction used to match shots. However, to get acceptable saturation on Flash downloads, I had to increase saturation to a whopping 185% on a few shots.

Note: not all shots have audio.

I'm NOT trying to prove which is better as I have both camcorders and offer eBooks on both: http://www.knowledge-download.com/JVCHD7/ and http://www.knowledge-download.com/Sony-SRCX/ I think it's much more interesting how close they are.

Steve, I THINK it might be:
1 A
2 B
3 A
4 B
5 A
6 B
7 A
8 B
Although I'm not absolutely sure about number 7

I think I know which is which too.
Can you let me know?

You guys are both correct. BUT

You guys are both correct. But, look again at clip 3 -- the one from camcorder A (Sony SR12). See the pink on her white fur. Obviously, she doesn't have pink fur!

So is camera A really better, or does it simply give a "nicer warm pix" that folks prefer? In reality, camcorder B (JVC HD7) is slightly more accurate. Also, note the Thumbnail which looks great is from B.

So far, no one has guessed which is which when I shot outdoors in the other video I posted.

Ah, but it wasn't the colour I was going on for this video, it was a certain 'clarity' in the fur detail. Especially since you said you'd altered the colour in some shots. I suspect you warmed up the HD7 vids a little to try to match the Sony?

As for the other vid, I think I wasn't far off, but there were one or two I couldn't tell which was which.

Also, yes, I prefer the colour from the HD7. Though it is slightly oversaturated to my eye, you're right, it does seem more 'natural' generally.
Funny, but these guys who crank their EX1s saturation to +99 in cam, are losing something subtle and filmic in the shots. Just my opinion.

How is the Kitty by the way? wasn't eating last I heard?

Kitty fine

Thank you for asking. We found she would eat nothing but home baked chicken. Who knew? Perhaps she lived behind a Col. Sanders. (In NYC, all the resturants kept cats to kill the rats -- so there were cats who only ate Thai or Chinese.) She also loves roast pork and BBQ ribs. We have now moved her to chicken cat food. She is also playing 4AM high-speed tag with the three we rescued last year. She's about 4# and her favorite tag-mate is the 16# cat. Must shoot -- but not at 4AM.
