Very nice Edit Joe.
Is the reason you used Super 8 to get that look? If so, can one one not simulate that look in post?

Thanks guys.
Andy - The Shot at 4.10 was done with the Canon 5DMKII and the Audio was from a Sony Lav mic. One on the pastor and one on the groom.
Shiv - You can never achieve the same look as using film. You can try and mimic it in post but it will look fake every time. The tone, grain structure and overall vibe of super 8 film is something special. I love shooting it! It just gives the story a cool spark of magic. The web compression always hurts super 8, the grain ends up looking funny. But when you see it on DVD or Blu-ray it's amazing.

Awesome work as always Joe!
Did you have two camera people shooting during the ceremony?
Are you using the GlideCam 4000 the whole time during the ceremony too?
I just got one and I think that would kill me to hold it for that long

Hey Brian - I have myself and another shooter during the ceremony. I normally use the Glidecam at the beginning and end of the ceremony, sometimes I'll get a shot or two during the middle depending on how much time I have.
I have quick release plates on all my gear so I can go from tripod to the Glidecam in about 20 sec. It really helps to have them.
- Joe

Andy, yes two work great. I use the groom's mic as the primary and the officiants as a backup mic.

This is easily one of the best wedding highlight films I've ever seen. Truly inspiring, and the mix of Super8 colorful/grainy/filmic funk (so cool!) and MarkII purity is really interesting.
Btw, I completely agree about shooting actual Super8 film, rather than trying to emulate it. I am not a film purist, but I certainly recognize the inherent look of celluloid that can never be fully replicated. (it IS photo-chemical, afterall)
Extremely well shot and edited. Masterful. Bravo!
