We shot this TTD the day after their wedding. It is a mix Super 8mm, 5DMKII and XHA1.

Nice to see the couple all by themselves in a very informal lovey-dovey scenario. TDD – I thought women saved their wedding dress to hand down to their daughters. Is this a new concept these days? Oh, and I do hope you handed James his tie when you found it laying in the sand?
Love the smiles on both their faces in the shot at around 2:23.
So were the black and white (8mm) shots done on black and white film or did you do that in post? Years ago I worked in an Ad production house (in India) and we shot on 35mm film and then went through a process called Tele-Cine that converted the 35mm to Betacam. Is that how you convert 8mm to digital format?
Hmm, nice choice of thumbnail too!

Kate + James - Trash the Dress, Grand Cayman Island
Joe, the color really pops on this cover photo. Any tips on what you did to get it so rich. It looks like you may have had a light on the camera or a reflector bouncing the light back to them, along with a low ISO. Reminds me of the old Ectachrome or Kodachrome 64 Days.
You are awesome my friend.
Sparkie

Astounding
As expected, I love how you put the titles on the horizion live, very graphic designer of you. Love the Super 8, framing, screen direction, the "From Here to Enternity" homage. F##king amazing work. This couple should be very satisfied to say the least.
Steve

Shiv - The TTD effect has been going on for a few years now, couples want to have fun and get out there in their wedding clothes and get some cool photos/video.
James actually forgot he left his tie there, and I did return it :).
The B/W film was Kodak Tri-X film. I shot it a bit overexposed to give it a really gritty old school look. Also some of it was shot at 9fps to help mimic older film.
I have my film telecined to 1080 ProRes at www.cinelicious.tv
Thanks Paul!
Sparkie I use Magic Bullet to color correct my films, it does a great job or really pulling out contrast and colors.
We also used a bounce during the shoot to give a bit more pop, aka "hollywooding" haha. sucked that it was a bit windy and you can see it coming and going.
Thanks Steve! The couple was awesome and we had an amazing time working with them.

Joe,
I noticed you mentioned cinelicious.tv for telecine. I'm looking for a facility to transfer some old 8 & 16mm film of my grandparents and parents. Have you had any experience with pro8mm.com? I'm thinking you've done some research in this field and in your opinion who offers the most bang for the buck? I am assuming cinelicious.tv is your preferred choice but, I am curious to know your opinion if any. Thanks a million!
