Back in May of this year I wrote a review of the Redrock Micro Follow Focus and I was amazed at how well it performed for the price they were selling it at. For half the price of the Chrosziel you could get a good follow focus. However, the one draw back of the unit was that it had 1/16” of play in the wheel compared to the 1/32” of play in the Chrosziel. Always seeking to delivery quality products at affordable prices for he indi market, Redrock Micro has released an upgrade to their follow focus. Brian Valente at Redrock was kind enough to send me the upgrade, and I am amazed at what they have done with the follow focus. All current models of the follow focus are now shipping with these upgrades, and in short they have met and exceeded the quality of the Chrosziel- which is twice the price! For owners of the old version of the follow focus, you can order a replacement gear box from Redrock for $65.
