How WPPTV Came to Be Known –
Also known as our premiere online portfolio, WPPTV is Wiggle Puppy’s outlet for harvesting select nuggets from our highly venerated video vault. Our body of work largely consists of live music videos recorded with cleverly gathered resources, a limited budget, years of experience, a lot of skill, a touch of talent, through coordinated chaos, with tons of tenacity, a head full of acid, and more passion than you’ll ever see! We’re lucky enough to have developed a close friendship with the music community empowering us to capture the most intimate of footage. We thrive on the energy of the artists we shoot and vice versa. We also spend a great deal of our time catering to other aspects of film, video & multimedia. We have clients that range from the commercial to the corporate field which allows us the ability to give back once or twice a year to the music scene in the form of cost based video (often playing favorites to our Chicago Roots) as well as some of our favorite charities like our friends over at Conscious Alliance and some other great causes that churn our butter. This plays into Wiggle Puppy’s Core Philosophy and turns our friends on to the projects we really dig! These videos are a mix of bands we have sought out, bands who have sought us out, fragments of our personal lives, causes that we wag behind, and a few loyal clients! Wiggle Puppy Productions was created in 1998 by partners in crime, Mark Krieglstein and Sara Yule, as a Chicago based boutique multi-media production company. Their first major endeavor was a 35mm comedic feature entitled Urban Ground Squirrels. In 2000 they collaborated with MTV on their award winning series True Life. With a handful of independent films under their belt they branched into music cutting their teeth with Phish covering their Millennium event on the Seminole Indian Reservation in Southern Florida. Since then they have done film and video work with a variety of bands including Phish, The Flaming Lips, Super Furry Animals, The Secret Machines, David Grisman, Matisyahu, Ingrid Michaelson, Dios (Malos), Candylion, Dead Meadow, The Benevento Russo Duo, Page McConnell, Jen Hartswick, Grace Potter, Dan Wilson, Meiko, Cary Brothers, Bustle in Your Hedgerow, Natalie Walker, Prefuse 73, Matisyahu, Califone, Addison Groove Project, North Mississippi Allstars, Los Lobos, Taj Mahal, Burning Spear, Joshua Radin, Andreas Kapsalis, moe, The Mink Lungs, Burning Spear, Big Frog ("Japan’s only Jamband"), Chris Berry & Panjea, The Violent Femmes, Raq, Joshua Radin, Panavision, The Hotel Café Tour 2008, The Art of Being, amongst many others. etc. as well as local Chicago talents such as: Umphrey’s McGee, Jennifer Hartswick Band, Van Ghost, Ultra Sonic Edukators, Future Rock, Gio, The Giving Tree Band, Todd Carey, Dearborn, Andreas Kapsalis Trio, Oucho Sparks, Treologic, Chicago Bluegrass & Blues Festival, Silver Wrapper Presents, Wicker Park Festival, Triple Dat Mas, Ibogaine Forum 2009, amongst many many others.
