"PRETTY RHODODENDRONS" is a flowing video exploration of the beauty of the flowers and the hilltop pine woods environment of the rhododendron collection of the Cornell University Plantations.

I had considerable difficulty editing this video with Sony's Vegas Pro 8b software, and NOTHING I tried (including stripping the computer bare of all software and files, slow-reformating the drives, replacing the RAM, checking all the hardware, and selectively reloading only the important software) prevented random red/black frames and odd timing glitches from appearing in the exported video. When I was near the end of this edit, Sony fortunately released a beta version of a .dll file, which when installed, cured most of the problems I had been having with editing HDV. Since then, Sony has released version 8c, which appears to be fine.

(Note: The video compression necessary to make internet streaming practical may cause the image to appear to move with some "jogging" during pans that is not in the original - and for the smoothest playback in HD, it may be necessary to play the video twice.)
