A visual description of the many things Ithaca, New York has to offer. These include numerous large and small waterfalls (with the highest free-fall waterfall east of the Mississippi, Taughannock Falls), many glens, gorges, streams, lakes (both small and quite large), forests, rolling hills, and several NY State Parks (including Robert Treman, Buttermilk falls, Taughannock, Treman Marina, and the nearby Watkins Glen State Parks). Ithaca is also the home of Cornell University and Ithaca College - Cornell, with world famous research specialties, and both with many highly respected educational specialties. Ithaca is also a center for the visual arts, music, and theater. Cornell's Herbert F. Johnson art museum and the many local galleries provide places to show and see work. There are several theaters in Ithaca that present first-rate plays (with often new experimental work shown). There are also several performance halls for music here, and several festivals (such as Grassroots and Ithaca Festival) and many concerts of interest for visitors and residents alike which include folk, popular, jazz, classical, and modern classical music (and many famous musicians and singers call Ithaca home, and their work is supported by the presence of many local recording studios here). Ithaca has opportunities for fishing, boating, hiking, and golfing - and for watching sports like football, hockey, etc. For a small upstate NY city on the edge of one of the Finger Lakes, Ithaca has a surprisingly large variety of things to see and do, some of which are shown in this video. (Note: The video compression necessary to make internet streaming practical may cause the image to appear to move with some "jogging" during pans that is not in the original.)
