The "Real Life" movie concept is founded on my belief that it is possible to produce a movie of value and worth from video, audio, and still photography obtained without scripting or planning.  The media contained within the movie is usually captured impulsively by videographers and photographers, and often media recording is a secondary activity to the events being experienced by the recording artists at the time.  The story-line is developed from the content of the captured media, and video editing plays a pivotal role in ensuring the final movie asset is a cohesive work that connects with its viewers.

nope

These types of films are fine for a quick film.I seldom watch them completely. They will connect with some but not the broad way we as film makers hope our films will..Dare we hope for a million? Never will a full length be made successfully this way. I think it's a way for a film maker to get "things" out of their system so they don't have these strange thoughts lurking in the back of their minds. Think about it, pray about it, and forget about it.

Yep

Can be done and SHOULD be done that way.

If am not mistaken there were feature films done that way... no script and just an idea of: ah hell, lets's just go and shoot something.
Some of those movies were a success.

I wrote scripts for feature films the 'old fasion way' in 1970's and I think we should give way to new concepts as you mentioned. Lets face it, the industry still generating stories the way it was 'invented' at the turn of the century. The only thing changed is the method of putting it on paper.

Well, you be the judge, do you like the current crop of movies?
It's done the old fashion way :)
Plan and re-write it 50 times.

And don't you just love those 're-make' movies?
Why?
Ran out of people who can think and come up with new ideas?
