My first music video... how about that?

Let me start off by saying that if it was not for Tom Lewis, my friend and mentor, I would not be here today creating art. He taught me a lot of things while he was here on this Earth, and he has only started to influence my future projects. I know he would have loved this video, which means a lot to me. We all miss you Tom!

Song: Young Folks by Peter Bjorn and John

Starring Spike G. Frisby and Kristin Frisby. Shot on a Canon 7D with various lenses. We shot all but the last two shots all on Saturday, March 6. After a really hard week of grieving, we decided to focus our efforts on creating a video that we knew Tom would love. We hope you enjoy it as well.

Equipment and Software:
Camera: Canon 7D
Lenses: Canon 10.0-22.0 mm, Canon EF 28-135mm f/3.5-5.6 IS, Canon 50mm f/1.4
Software Final Cut Pro, Soundtrack Pro, Photoshop, Magic Bullet Looks, After Effects
Other: Manfrotto 241V Suction Grip, Manfrotto 501HDV/75

Tom would be ... IS...Proud

Great job.
Some of the best work I have seen you do. The colors are great and the shots are cut right on. I am trying to sell my Letus Ultimate today on ebay. If it goes, I am buying the 5d or 7d. I love the look of that camera. Again, I know the love you put into this piece. It shows.

Really all round nice work. A fitting tribute.

Color & image quality are impressive. Have you settled on a custom picture profile for 7d?
Charles Frisby    March 09, 2010 12:12 AM

I've dodged profiles so far. The only profiling I do is Manual Control and White Balance ;)

I had 18 different profiles on my XHA1.... But so far, with the 7D's awesome sensor, I've been able to do everything I wanted to do in post. Magic Bullet Looks and a 3 Way Color Balance filter are great tools!

Looking back on profiles... They always seemed to distract me on the XHA1. I'd focus really hard about what profile I wanted to use on location... and would eventually just waste time. It's just easier to do in post. Maybe some day.

Right now... I'm a lens whore!

Born in Los Angeles and raised in Dallas, I have been a film junkie from a young age. While I was heavy into to 2D computer animation in high school (as well as 3D animation in college), it was not until I received a roll in an independent film that I realized my love for film-making.
