My first experiment with the time lapse feature of the Sony PMW-EX1 camera. Not a big success, but interesting first attempt.

There is a blip about half way through where the picture sudenly darkens a little. The LCD was showing zebra marks like crazy so I panicked and adjusted the exposure slightly.

Footage was taken using 1 frame a second and with slow shutter speed set to 16 to avoid jerky motion (although it has some interesting side effects that make positioning and focussing 'interesting' once set). I set minimal gain (-3db) to avoid noise, and was surprised that in the slow shutter mode aperture had to be set almost fully closed down to avoid over-exposure once dawn arrived.

Lots of further experimentation required, but ideally when I'm not suffering from a cold and the weather which had been warm and humid at 4am doesn't turn to cold and wet at 5am!
