Teaser for my next (?) documentary, a portrait of Andy Narell, king of the steel pan, filmed in Trinidad. This doc is an opportunity to discover the astonishing trinidadian culture that embrase steel pan, calypso, carnival ... Mainly in english, just a short sequence in french (since Andy is both american and french speaking).

Nice. Didn't know such an instrument (pan) existed so I enjoyed it from a documentary point of view. I still can't believe the sound it produces.

Yes, there is a sensorial gap beetween the pan's look (a piece of metal) and the sound (harmonious, soft, "melifluent" as one said) ... I just can recommend you to go further and lessen to some steel pan compostions ... Try Andy Narell "Tatoom", David Rudder (the trinidadian Fela) ...
Thanx for the nice comments ... I loved the energy of Trinidad, and tried to bring it into my doc, so I'm happy if you feel it when viewing.
