Marina’s story, the true Princess and the Pea

Marina Garaventa was born in 1960, she is fully paralysed and is on artificial respiration. She can't speak and, as she affirms, she can't “ make love” and she can't go out and have an ordinary life.
In spite of this, she lives, fights, and communicates with the world through her computer.
Marina defines herself the “Princess and the Pea”, she is a symbol of courage, pain, obstinacy and irony.
She wants to live, she will live as long as she can think.
