Some new test footage I shot with the HPX-170.

Most of it was shot at 60fps since I love the look.

There is also some extreme low light footage towards the end. Those shots were taken after the sun had already set. I was surprised how well it did in such extreme low light.

The fire was shot in total darkness at full zoom across the river.

Kevin,

Nice shots very rich looking and I like the slomo as well adds a bit of a new dimension. I 'll be getting my EX3 on Wed. and the Nikon/EX3 adapter later in the week hope to have some new footage up soon.
Great stuff.

Ray..

Ray,

Can't wait to see what you can do with your new EX3.
I know you're going to get some incredible footage.

One of these days maybe I'll pick up a camera with interchangeable lenses. :)

Hope to get out to your neck of the woods one of these days to do some shooting.

Nice shots Kevin! This is the first footage I've seen from this camera. I didn't even realise it was available yet. I'm assuming you're quite happy with it's performance?

Glenn,

I really do like the HPX-170 over my original HVX-200. There's no way my original HVX could have shit in that low light situation and come away with such clean footage.

The 170 is lighter which means it's easier for me to lug it around in the field all day too.

But, I haven't had a chance to try out all of it's new features like the waveform monitor and the vectorscope.

I love some of the simple things like assigning a user button to raise and lower the frame rate when I'm shooting variable frame rates. No more going into the menu to change that.

Looking forward to getting some great footage with this camera.

Thanks for the comment!
