Phil,

In your use of the Ultimate.. what do you think are the factors that could justify the price to be paid and how would it distinguish itself from the Extreme, which on its own is already such a brilliant piece of machine at its given price point?

Stunning Visuals Phil!

I’m getting to see more of the US through your videos (and I live here!) and you make everything look so good. I think you’ve captured some great moments here.I love the dachshund slow motion shot. It's like he's the only one who noticed you. Well the people shots were all great too.

That first shot with the wide and panning along with the music made me feel like someone just came to (from being unconscious) in this desert, totally disoriented and a bit dizzy and was trying to find her bearings. Then you see her running down the slope as if running away from someone or trying to hide. I remember thinking, “Now all she needs to do is stop and look back, and that’ll do it”. And she does!

In the beginning after the wide shot you zoom in on one of the mountains. I was half expecting a cut to a close up on another mountain (as if she was looking to see if someone was there).

That setting sun time lapse went so fast it looks like you did it in post (which I know you didn’t). You started with another time lapse first, so what happened there?

It would be fun to see a another edit that plays on this story I have in my head :). That couple looking down and the group of three on the rocks could be looking down at her. The other shot with the rock that looks almost like the head of the sphinx fallen off could be what she looks at when she turns around.

Plus I think it will show how an edit can change the whole film. This is just a thought by the way (I guess I'm getting carried away).

Philip,

It's superb! what vibrant colour and what a film look.
The wide shot (second) i like best. It reminds me of Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade introduction. But the bokeh, the angles and perspective, even your own shadow, it all adds up to a wonderful piece.
