Edinburgh - An inspiring city.
Two days before I left for Uganda to volunteer for 7 weeks there, I wanted to shoot some of the essence of what is Edinburgh so that the orphans I'll be working with, can have a glimpse of where I'm from. These children will never see snow and, of course the UK has been blanketed with the stuff. So, Edinburgh looks a bit battered but still one of the great cities of the world.
I only had a few hours to do this and so didn't get a chance to edit it the way normally would, but it gives an example of what my home looks like.
Since this was such a last minute project, I didn't have time to mention in the credits that the music (apart from the first piece which is Les Preludes by Liszt) was from Colin Steele's Stramash album. My brother-in-law, Billy introduced me to this superb music and took me to a concert in Edinburgh where they played a fabulous set. Sadly, Billy died suddenly in November and will be greatly missed. I also have him to thank for introducing me to Salsa Celtica, an incredible mix of salsa and celtic music.
