I'm not sure if you did this for fun or not but I think your approach to this trailer could have been more effective.
The opening statements by the guy set the tone and that worked well but, instead of intercutting some footage to add impact to what he was saying, you chose multiple cross dissolve transitions which made everything drag. There was no pacing and the edits were too long. Even when you eventually got to the fireworks footage, it didn't feel like highlights but more like random clips selected and then pieced together. I think the piece would have really benefited from quicker cuts, less information and more exciting pacing to match the energy of the program itself.
Less is more. This could have been cut down to a killer 30 - 45 second tease. You've certainly got the assets to do it.

Hey, I'm also using the Sony HVR-A1U. It seems to have the worst low lux and the exposure settings pretty much lower the quality to... well, VHS haha. Anyway, what have your experiences been like using it? I guess it was one of the early installments of the cmos processor. I dunno, I've had mixed results using it - It looks great in perfect lighting, but barely works at all in med to low light. Haha, it got great reviews, but I’ve never really talked to anyone who’s owned one. I really hate that touch screen.
