As a member of ExposureRoom you already know that when you upload an asset we provide you with the ability to "tag" your assets as well as assign the equipment used in order to bring your asset to life. Equipment is anything from a camera to software to any other hardware (lenses, dollies, tripod, etc.) that you may have used in the making of your asset.

Separate Tags and Equipment

The reason we keep tags and equipment separate is so that we can provide members and visitors the ability to find assets made using certain equipment that they may be in the market to purchase or simply get an idea of what certain hardware can produce. For photos, we extract all of the meta-data available (if any) from the photograph so you don’t have to provide it. Videos and music are a different story.

We believe this is a unique feature of ExposureRoom and will go a long way towards becoming a valued directory of such information in time to come. Towards that end, we’ll be introducing the ability to search by tags and equipment. You can already do this today using the search screen, but you may get more results than you expect unless you specifically choose the “Use Exact Phrase” check box.

Popular Tags, Popular Equipment

In order to make things simpler and to be able to see the tags and equipment in popular use, we’ve added two search screens in the search tab called “Popular Tags” and “Popular Equipment”. When you go to either of these screens, you’ll see what are known as Tag Clouds. These are a larger version of the tag clouds you see on the right hand side of your videos, photos and music pages

By simply clicking on the tag name, you’ll see a search result of all assets that have been tagged with that tag. The sample image below shows the results from clicking on "Action".
