If your website or blog uses WordPress, you can now embed ExposureRoom videos in your site.

Using our plug-in makes embedding ExposureRoom Videos in your WordPress blog a breeze.
A simple tag like this:

[xr_video id="4c0151e5f72941f682d49eca99ed7e4a" size="md"]

will embed an ExposureRoom video in your blog.

Please note that this plug-in can only be  used if your are hosting your own website or your hosting provider uses WordPress to host your blog. If your blog is currently on wordpress.com then this plug-in is not for you.

Working with WordPress

We’re also working with the WordPress people directly so that ExposureRoom embed codes become first class citizens of WordPress. This will allow those of you who host your blogs on wordpress.com to embed ExposureRoom videos. This may take a while, but the response so far has been very positive. We will also add a special link to get the WordPress embed code in the "share it" section of an asset, when that happens.

Supported Attributes

id:        The value of id attribute is the id of the asset (video) on ExposureRoom.

size:        The size attribute can have the following values - sm, md, lr (for low, medium and HD respectively).

width:    If you use the width attribute, the video will be re-sized to the width specified. The height will be determined automatically as per the aspect ratio of the video. Valid values are positive integers.

titleColor:    The titleColor attribute is optional and expects colors in hex (eg: #ffffff for white and #000000 for black etc.).

title: Use this attribute to turn the title on or off. Valid values are true or false. The default is false. The title appears under the video as an <H1> tag so the look and feel will match your website's style. Note that this attribute does not control the title and credit that appears inside the video player.

titlePosition: This attribute can have the following values - above, below. If you have turned on the title (by setting the title attribute to true) then you can control the position of the title to be either above or below the video. By default the position is above, but you can set it to show below the video by setting the value of this attribute to be below (titlePosition="below").

description: Use this attribute to turn the description of your video on or off. The default is false. The description appears under the video and under the title if the title is present.

You can download the plug-in from the WordPress site directly. You'll find the instructions there as well, but it's really very simple.

You can watch this video tutorial to see it all in action

Autoplay option?

Shiv:

Would it be possible to add the autoplay option? This would be useful when a single video is featured on a page, or when several are featured, allowing the top one to autoplay upon pageload.

Lang,

Technically it is possible. However, we don't believe auto play serves any positive purpose (it has many drawbacks and a negative experience for the viewer).

For example, what if (as a viewer) I want to view the second video and not the first? As a typical viewer, I don't know:
1. Stop the first video from playing
2. Now that the first video has started, and the rest of the video is being streamed, I should wait for it to complete downloading before playing any other video.

If I don't do any of the above, I'll have a really bad experience viewing videos. Imagine my experience now with the third video?

So really, from a web page design point of view, I'd suggest not having more than one video on the page. Or have a carousel kind of thing that allows the viewer to pick one video at a time.

you're right, but . . .

I need it for use on my home page where there will be a single "featured video clip" that should begin playing automatically upon page load. There won't be any other videos on the page.

One other thing. If one were to post several videos on a page and have the first one autoplay, then you would need to add a real "stop" button to the controller that discontinues upload. That way a person could actually stop the upload of the one that is playing before starting another.

The classic "1pixelOut wordpress audio player plugin" has the great feature of allowing only one player on a page to play at any one time. In other words, if there are several players on a page and one is playing, that player stops (and collapses) whenever a second player is enabled. Very nifty indeed. You can check out an example here:

This would be a terrific feature to add to a video player and would totally solve the problem of posting several videos on a page and not being able to stop the upload of any particular video once it has begun.
